POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting & Business Administration Specialist to manage our financial records, ensure compliance, and drive efficiency through technological advancements. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, strong technical skills, and a passion for process optimization. As part of our finance team, you will work closely with other departments to ensure seamless operations while contributing to the improvement of our financial systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
  • Assist with financial analysis and forecasting to help the company make informed decisions
  • Reconcile bank accounts and other accounts as requested
  • Assist with Power BI report building and other reports building as requested
  • Complete sales tax filing, review sales tax rates, and manage customer exemptions
  • Assist with bookkeeping for entities as directed by manager
  • Record fixed asset purchases and monthly depreciation
  • Prepare payroll reports and resolve discrepancies
  • Track and communicate grant related expenses
  • Continuously evaluate accounting processes for opportunities to streamline, improve, and automate using technology
  • Assist with the integration and implementation of new accounting software or financial systems

Special Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business related field
  • 2-5 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in an agriculture-related or manufacturing environment
  • Experience with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics GP, SalesPad) is highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial reporting tools
  • Knowledge or interest in automating accounting processes and implementing new technologies to improve efficiencies
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
